Malachite is an ore of copper (yes, copper). But the reason it is famous is not because of its chemical importance. It is widely used in astrology as a symbol of good luck. So here are some facts about Malachite – 1. Malachite is used as a gemstone as it is believed that it brings good luck. 2. This green stone is worn to detect impending danger, and is assumed to break into pieces when danger is near. 3. It is one of the oldest known green pigments to be used in paintings, because its colour do not fade over time or when exposed to light. 4. The ancient Egyptians, Greeks and Romans believed malachite repel evil spirits and it has metaphysical property. It was often carved into amulets and has a long history of having protective qualities. 5.
